I enjoy the process of development – from understanding customer/consumer requirements, to developing prototypes, and then having the product ready for mass production. It helps that I have access to international-standard high-tech equipment and facilities at our Marunda R&D centre, which makes my job more interesting. In this role, I also get to work with all types of customers, meet chefs, bakers, technical teams and join the development process. The most satisfying part of my job is when the end-product is well accepted by consumers.
There are many values I have learned since joining – one of them that still impresses me is the strong emphasis on continuous improvement and innovation. This shows how serious the company is in developing the best products, including oil palm seeds and ramets. Research is not something that you can get quick short-term benefits from but is an important long-term investment to develop something new and better for the world, and I’m fortunate to be a part of it.
I love the experience that the company has given me. While carrying out my tasks, I get the chance to travel and visit our company sites around Indonesia, meeting people from different cultures and working together with them.
