Indonesia continues to prove that its palm oil industry is concerned about environmental sustainability and is taking steps to operate in a sustainable manner.
Senior Managing Director at Sinar Mas Agri, Agus Purnomo added that there is great awareness of sustainable practices among stakeholders in the palm oil business, which includes smallholders, “They have made so many improvements. Palm oil companies have also committed to transparency and accountability in their operations through, for example, ensuring traceability of Fresh Fruit Bunches (FFBs) from our smallholders.”
