To strengthen occupational safety and health culture across all operations, Sinar Mas Agribusiness and Food, through all of its plantations, conducted a series of National OHS Month 2026 activities. Nationally, the commemoration of National OHS Month this year was held from 12 January 2026 to 12 February 2026, carrying the theme “Building a Professional, Reliable and Collaborative OHS Management Ecosystem”. This initiative is part of the company’s commitment to ensure consistent, measurable and sustainable implementation of OHS across all lines of work.

Through this series of activities, the company encourages consistent and sustainable implementation of workplace safety standards by involving plantation workers, mill workers, and management across all operational units. Each operational region involved an average of around 100 participants in various educational and OHS strengthening activities.

Occupational safety and health is a key foundation in maintaining the sustainability of the company’s operations. “The commemoration of National OHS Month serves as a momentum to continuously strengthen awareness among all employees to always prioritise occupational safety and health in every activity. With active participation from workers and support from management, we strive to create a safe, healthy and productive working environment,” said the management of PT SMART Tbk.

Strengthening Safety Culture

Various activities were conducted to improve workers’ understanding and compliance with safety standards, including socialisation of OHS procedures, education on the use of personal protective equipment, and emergency response simulations. The company also encouraged active involvement from workers through video and poster competitions with OHS themes, as well as appreciation given to plantation and mill workers who consistently applied safety practices in their daily activities.

A joint commitment signing between management and workers was also part of the activities, symbolising synergy in maintaining a safe and healthy work environment. Through these activities, the company aims to increase awareness, compliance with safety standards, and stronger collaboration between management and workers in building a sustainable OHS culture.

The implementation of National OHS Month is also part of the company’s commitment to continuously integrate occupational safety and health aspects into all business processes in a consistent and measurable manner.

“Going forward, we will continue to strengthen the implementation of OHS culture through continuous coaching programmes, socialisation and monitoring across all operational units. The company also seeks to develop more effective OHS programs through the use of digitalization, strengthening of OHS management systems, and objective risk control involving all levels of workers,” concluded PT SMART Tbk’s management.
