South Kalimantan, (06/03) – In welcoming the holy month of Ramadan, PT SMART Tbk Tarjun Unit organised a cooking oil bazaar in Tarjun Village, Kelumpang Hilir Subdistrict, South Kalimantan. The initiative was warmly received by the community, particularly residents of Tarjun and Langadai villages, who showed strong enthusiasm and began arriving early in the morning to participate.
Through this programme, the company made packaged cooking oil under the Masku brand available to the community at a more affordable price through the bazaar mechanism. The initiative aims to help local residents meet essential household needs as they prepare for Ramadan.
To ensure the event was conducted in an orderly and equitable manner, the organising committee distributed 2,400 vouchers to residents two days prior to the bazaar. On the day of the event, residents exchanged these vouchers to purchase cooking oil in accordance with the established guidelines.
Head of Kelumpang Hilir Subdistrict, Lanjar Titi Sumarni, expressed her appreciation for the initiative. “We hope that cooking oil bazaars like this can continue to be organised and reach more areas in Kelumpang Hilir Subdistrict, as the benefits are directly felt by the community,” she said.
During the event, a total of 800 boxes of two-litre packaged cooking oil were sold to residents. The high turnout and strong participation reflected the community’s enthusiasm for the programme.
Friso Adinata, General Manager of PT SMART Tbk Tarjun Unit, said the initiative forms part of the company’s ongoing commitment to supporting communities around its operational areas. “A total of 4,800 pouches of Masku cooking oil were made available at this bazaar. We hope this initiative can help residents meet their household needs ahead of Ramadan,” he said.
The bazaar is one of the company’s efforts to strengthen engagement with local communities while contributing to the availability of essential goods at more accessible prices.
