PT Sawit Mas Sejahtera (SMS), has agreed to and participated in bipartite discussion to resolve a dispute regarding the termination of one employee.
The bipartite discussion was held on 27 March 2019 and resulted in an agreement to end the employee’s employment with PT SMS. This agreement was signed by both parties. The agreement was registered in the Industrial Relations Court on 11 April 2019, as indicated by the Industrial Relations Court Registration Certificate in the Palembang District Court of South Sumatra Province.
This matter has recently been the subject of media and social media speculation. PT SMS wishes to reassure its workers and members of the wider community, including the government, that it operates in compliance with Indonesian labour laws and respects the rights of its workers, in line with those laws and the company’s own social and environmental policy.
